Dr. Vigg completed his postgraduate medical education in the United Kingdom in 1984, followed by specialist training in England and Wales in the fields of internal medicine and respiratory disorders. He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP). He has also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Research in 2010 from CREMA in Mumbai.
Besides being a distinguished member of several professional bodies related to his field, he has presented scientific papers at international conferences and meets, including at Cannes in March 2000, Madrid in October 1999 and San Francisco in May 2004. He has also actively participated in research and clinical trials, having been involved in more than 25 Phase I and Phase II trials so far. He has been a co-investigator in trials connected to pulmonary medicine, critical care and infectious diseases.
Dr. Ajit Vigg has served as a faculty member for training critical care physicians and DNB students in respiratory medicine at Apollo Hospital.
